About Fairfield Church of Christ

Our Foundation
"For no one can lay any other foundation than the one we already have - Jesus Christ." - 1 Corinthians 3:11
We are a non-denominational church, committed to the basic Christianity that we find described in the New Testament. We are pursuing the hope that Christ prayed for - that there be unity among all who profess that Jesus Christ is Lord.
We receive the Bible as God's holy, inspired Word. It is standard for our faith and practices. We are seeking to live a life fitting of those who are fully devoted to following Jesus. Helping others to know Him and trust Him is our first priority stated. One simple way to express our purpose: Make disciples - More and Better Disciples
Our members accept Jesus Christ as the Son of the Living God and submit to Him as Savior and Lord of life.
Our church is a free church with Christ alone as our Head and Leader. We are not ruled by any denominational authority, but seek to live under the direction of God's Holy Spirit. As we have learned from the Scriptures, we appoint elders, deacons, and others to help us in following Christ and building His church. While we determine and set our own policies, we voluntarily cooperate with other Christians in activities and joint ventures that will help fulfill Christ's commission to make disciples of all people world-wide.
We practice baptism as we find it taught and demonstrated in the New Testament. It is an act of immersion in water of a penitent believer and serves as a picture of Christ's saving work through His own death, burial and resurrection.
We share in the communion or Lord's Supper each week as we gather for worship.
Our History
A small group of believers, the Fairfield Church of Christ, met for their first Sunday worship services on February 3, 1963 in the George Washington Junior High School. With the help of the North 7th Street Church of Christ in Hamilton and the Christian Evangelizing Fellowship of Cincinnati, this fledgling congregation envisioned the planting of a vibrant church in the new, emerging community.
In 1966, the church built its first campus structure on the site of an old nursery with many trees upon the acreage on Symmes Road. FCC was affectionately called, "the church in the woods." That original structure still houses many class rooms and our church library.
In the years that have followed, God has directed and blessed us to grow in mission, ministry and service that have given cause to subsequent campus developments. And while this church's history could be recounted by reciting the phased additions of brick and mortar, the real story is abut people who found Christ, a family of faith, and a fulfilling purpose at FCC.
"You also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house... " - 1 Peter 2:15
FCC has become a multi-generational, multi-style, multi-service fellowship. Our original start up group has multiplied in size over ten times and this congregation of believers now has a regional impact.
In the autumn of 2008, new phase of growth is being celebrated at FCC as we open a new Worship Center, a beautiful Atrium, and an exciting children's ministry center known as Kidopolis! The new, enlarged facilities reflect FCC's commitment to Reach 1 More 4 Jesus... and then another... and another!
